Welcome to my Blog Page, I’m glad you’re here! I am so excited to be a part of the World Race over the next year!

If you are reading this you may be wondering “What is the world race? How did you find out about this? Why are you going?” So let me tell you!

The World Race Gap Year is a program for students who just graduated highschool, where you spend nine months doing ministry in four different countries. There are several different routes, but I chose the one going to Guatemala, Cambodia, eSwatini, and South Africa. We will travel to these different countries and partner with the ministries that are there to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

How did I find out about The Race? Really the only answer I have for that is: God is so intentional. He orchestrates conversations in your everyday life, and you may not even realize what He did until later. I heard about the World Race from a mom at my crossfit gym, and almost immediately knew that is where I should be. I went home, looked it up, and by later that week I had applied. Soon I was accepted, committed, and now preparing for this new adventure!

Why am I going on this trip? As a senior in highschool nearly every conversation you have includes the question “What are your plans for after you graduate?” While that question never really scared me, I still never quite knew the answer. Going away to college didn’t seem right for me. Staying home had lots of benefits, but I knew I wanted to go somewhere new and exciting, and I had a fear of feeling stuck if I stayed. So how do I combine wanting to go somewhere new, but not at the expense of making an impact? I prayed and prayed for an answer. Then I found out about the World Race, and I was able to see just how intentional God had been with my heart to lead me to this decision. How cool is God for that?! I can see how even when I was young and my dad taught me to love camping (shoutout to Indian Princess:), it was preparing me to live in a tent for several weeks during training camp. It combines the adventure I love, and the opportunities to show people Jesus’s light like I know I am called to do. So long story short, I decided to go on the Race because it appeared in my life with so much intentionality that the only explanation could be God leading me there. I had never had peace about any of my “plans” before, but God showed me HIS plan that is overflowing with HIS Peace.

So that’s my What, Where, and Why!
